The Boston Celtics improved to 8-3 after a 128-112 victory over the Detroit Pistons last night, and their offense looked excellent. The Celtics once again put up over 120 points, and it highlights how dangerous their offense can be. Although it’s early in the season, the C’s offense is already on a historic pace.

The Celtics currently lead the NBA with a 118.5 offensive rating, which is on pace to be the highest in NBA history. The Cs offense is clicking on all cylinders as they have found the right pieces that gel well together. Malcolm Brogdon and Marcus Smart have done a solid job getting other players involved, and the ball movement is evident.

With the improved ball movement, the Boston Celtics have become an elite shooting team. Sam Hauser, Grant Williams, and Jayson Tatum have helped lead the charge in the shooting department, which has made the C’s the third-best shooting percentage team in the league. Boston is also fourth in the league in team three-point percentage.

The Boston Celtics play more as a team

Boston’s chemistry has also boosted the Celtic’s offense as they have finally built a connection. Now that the team’s core has had multiple years to learn and grow, they have become an elite ball movement team that looks virtually unstoppable. The Boston Celtics have moved away from selfish basketball and are playing a more team game.

The historic offensive pace is also a result of the elite play of Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown. Against the Pistons, Tatum and Brown each scored over 30 points, which was their 15th time doing so. According to ESPN, Tatum and Brown as a duo have the third-most games with 30+ points each in the last 30 seasons, along with Kevin Durant/Russell Westbrook and Shaquille O’Neal/Kobe Bryant. The elite play of Tatum and Brown has made the Boston Celtics almost impossible to guard.

As the season progresses, the Celtic’s offense is only going to get better, and opposing teams will have a hard time stopping them.
