The Boston Celtics bench has been solid this season, and second-year forward Sam Hauser is having a breakout season. Hauser is the shooter off the bench that the Celtics have been missing in recent seasons.

Hauser is averaging 6.3 points and 1.8 rebounds this season on 56/54 shooting splits. The Celtics have lacked shooting in recent seasons, and Hauser has provided a spark off the bench. Hauser is currently third in the NBA in 3-point percentage, and he is only going to get better.

Hauser has had solid games this season, including the best game of his career against the New York Knicks last week. Hauser scored a career-high 17 points in 21 minutes off the bench, and his efficiency was phenomenal. He shot 6/9 from the field and 5/8 from 3-point range.

The undrafted 3-point sharpshooter showed a little bit of everything during that game as he was hitting contested long-range shots, and he had a nice drive to the hoop for a layup.

Sam Hauser provides the Boston Celtics more than 3-point shooting

Boston Celtics fans’ concerns about Hauser’s defense heading into the season should go away as Hauser has been solid. Jayson Tatum and Marcus Smart have given credit to Hauser for his defense and his impact on the court.

Hauser has been making an impact during his time on the court, and he has done enough to solidify a spot in the rotation.

He has shown that he can have a Duncan Robinson-like impact for the C’s. Also, he has more value than Payton Pritchard because he is taller and can defend more positions on the floor.

I expect Hauser to continue lighting it up from the 3-point line, and I would not be surprised if he led the league in three-point shooting percentage this season. With Hauser on the court this season, expect the Boston Celtics second unit star’s assist numbers to rise.
