Jayson Tatum’s Current Form Should Scare the Rest of the NBA
Jayson Tatum has started this season on a mission for the Boston Celtics, and he is going for the MVP award. Tatum has responded from a poor Finals performance a year ago, and he is playing in elite form to start this season. His current form should have the rest of the NBA in fear.
Tatum is off to a strong start this season, as he is averaging 30.3 points, 8 rebounds, and 4.2 assists per game. His shooting splits are phenomenal, as he is shooting 50/38/90 from the field. Also, his true shooting percentage of 69.5% is near the top of the league.
His improved form coincides with his improved play in other areas. Tatum is attacking the basket at a high rate and getting to the line more than normal. Against the Chicago Bulls, Tatum attempted 20 free throws, which is a great number for him. Tatum has also improved his passing, and he is seeing the floor at a high level.
Tatum has also taken on more of a leadership role this season, which is a beautiful sight for Cs fans. His postgame press conferences have been encouraging this season, and it shows his maturity as a player. The improved leadership is important because the Boston Celtics need Tatum to lead by example.
Tatum’s current form is the best I’ve seen from him in his career, and the rest of the NBA should be worried. Tatum has figured it out, and the history of the NBA shows that once the superstars figure it out, the rest of the league is in trouble.
As the season progresses, I expect Tatum to take his game to another level and make a strong push for the MVP award. All 29 other NBA teams should be on high alert when Tatum steps foot in their arena on any given night.
