#3 Los Angeles Lakers

Even though the Los Angeles Lakers massively underperformed last season, they should not be counted out as a potential finals matchup against the Boston Celtics.

Currently having the ninth-best title odds at +1600 from Vegas Insider, the Lakers completely retooled their roster during the offseason, shifting from a veteran-dominant rotation to a more younger and athletic squad around their two best players in LeBron James and Anthony Davis.

Even at the age of 37, as long as James is in the league, any team he is on should always be considered to make a deep run in the postseason. Thanks to the underdog status they gained following their disastrous 2021-22 campaign, the Lakers are in position to surprise a lot of people this season.

The Lakers will arguably have the hardest road to the finals, likely taking on Golden State, the LA Clippers, and the Denver Nuggets in the playoffs to get there, depending on how they perform throughout the course of the regular season.

Should they make the finals, their matchup with Boston will still be a very intriguing one. With the Celtics knowing they were two games away from meeting the Lakers in the 2020 finals, they would want to take advantage of their second chance to get another victory in the NBA Finals against their historic rivals.
