Boston Celtics niche lineup No. 1: Malcolm Brogdon, Sam Hauser, Jaylen Brown, Jayson Tatum, Grant Williams

The objective of this lineup is quite clear: shoot the lights out of the ball until it’s pitch black in the T.D. Garden or wherever the Celtics happen to be playing.

Sam Hauser’s inclusion is one that comes instead of Danilo Gallinari’s, and truthfully, he hasn’t shot well enough at the pro level to not have it be questioned. He is tabbed here because of what he showed at Virginia and what he has done with the Maine Celtics.

Malcolm Brogdon replaces Marcus Smart at the point guard spot here, but for all we know, his shooting might not translate right away (or pessimists would say ever) and the reigning Defensive Player of the Year may be more appropriate.

Grant Williams and the ‘Jays’ make any 3-pointer focused group, with improvement from the 2019 first-round pick on both sides of the floor warranting such a conclusion.
