Anthony Davis has already begun his decline

In 2019 when there were serious rumors flying around that the Boston Celtics were looking to trade for then New Orleans Pelicans big man Anthony Davis. At the time, the C’s were in the middle of their nightmare 2018-19 season where they just couldn’t seem to get going.

The talk was that Boston would send Tatum as well as other pieces and picks to the Pelicans in exchange for Davis. There were even rumors that it would cost both Tatum and Brown. The Celtics had interest in the deal because they wanted to keep then star-point guard Kyrie Irving in town. Irving wanted to play with Davis and had even recruited him to Boston, according to Bleacher Report.

At the end of the day, the Brow ended up with the Los Angeles Lakers and the Jays remained in Boston. Now, in 2022, both Tatum and Brown are entering their prime, while Davis can’t seem to stay on the floor. Over the last two seasons he’s played in just 76 games for the Lakers. By himself, Tatum may very well be the best player that would’ve been involved in that trade. I can’t imagine that any Celtics fan looks back and wishes things turned out differently.
