Boston Celtics 2022-23 storyline No. 2: Jaylen Brown’s ascension

Another thing for fans to keep an eye on is the development of Jaylen Brown. It seems like every season, Brown comes back to the C’s having improved his game significantly. Last season, the six-year vet looked much more comfortable knocking down 3-pointers off of the dribble.

One category you’d have to imagine Brown attacked this summer would be his handle. Throughout the playoffs, specifically in the later rounds, JB struggled keeping the ball in traffic. He averaged three turnovers per game during Boston’s NBA Finals run.

On Tuesday, Overtime tweeted a video from trainer Chris Brickley that showed Brown looking ready to go.

You have to take any open run mixtape with a grain of salt, but Brown looked like he was able to get wherever he wanted. If the Georgia native truly has tightened his handle then things will be easier on Jayson Tatum. Opposing defenses won’t be able to keep as much focus on Tatum if Brown takes his game to the next level.

Celticsblog’s Keith Smith predicted a big year for JB, tweeting:

That’s quite an endorsement. With all of the KD melodrama this past offseason, Brown could be due for a career-best year.
