All offseason long, Boston Celtics media has been flush with reports and rumblings about how the franchise could wind up being a realistic landing spot for Brooklyn Nets superstar Kevin Durant after requesting a trade back in late June.

With the idea of Jaylen Brown serving as the main draw in a borough-bound package, many believe the C’s to have the ability to piece together the best offer that Sean Marks could possibly wind up receiving.

Though to some such an idea is rather enticing, the majority of Boston Celtics fans are completely against seeing Brown being exchanged for Durant.

Luckily for them, rumblings of such a trade scenario have grown quieter and quieter over the last few weeks, leaving many to believe that the front office may have officially put the concept to rest.

However, recently the rumor mill was sent into an absolute frenzy after a picture of franchise cornerstone Jayson Tatum surfaced showing him working out with…Kevin Durant.

With all the hoopla surrounding KD and Boston, it’s no wonder that these photos went on to cause quite a stir amongst fans and media pundits alike.

However, despite some perceiving it as a sign that Tatum wishes to see a blockbuster trade go down, in an August 21st interview with Bleacher Report’s Taylor Rooks the 24-year-old stated that people are blowing this simple workout way out of proportion.

"“It goes back to your earlier question, ‘What does it feel like to be Jayson Tatum?’ They exaggerate everything I do,” Tatum said. “I’ve known KD since I was in high school. We were on the USA team together. We spent five weeks together last year, from Vegas to Tokyo and we won the gold medal. We have a bond. Like, that’s my brother.”“I’m not too proud to say KD’s one of the best players ever. So, if like one of the best players ever wants to work out with you and I can learn some things from him, why would I say no?"

Unsurprisingly, the interview wound up making its way to the KD-for-JB rumors where, again unsurprisingly, Tatum was rather coy on the matter.

"“I played with [Durant] during the Olympics,” Tatum said in July. “Obviously, he’s a great player, but that’s not my decision. I love our team. I love the guys that we got.”"

Come the tip-off to the 2022-23 campaign, we at HH hope for nothing more than to see an opening day lineup of Tatum and Brown being rolled out for the Boston Celtics and, based on an August 21st article penned by The Boston Globe’s Adam Himmelsbach, this currently appears to be a real possibility considering that them and Brooklyn “have not had any real discussions of substance” when it comes to a potential deal.
