Team that could outbid Boston Celtics No. 2) Toronto Raptors

Just a few short years back, the Toronto Raptors were a team fresh off of their first NBA Championship and finding themselves going toe-to-toe with the Boston Celtics in the Lake Buena Vista bubble the season after in an attempt to advance to round three for another shot at taking home the conference crown.

Fast forward to today and we see a team that has lost the lion’s share of their leaders from that epic 2019 Finals run, yet is still looking to vie for contention thanks to their talented, albeit rather young main core.

Now, assuming they wish to stay on course and gradually develop into a legitimate title threat (which is by no means a bad decision for them to make), one should take Toronto out of the conversation when it comes to potential trade destinations for Kevin Durant.

That said, considering they’re viewed by many as a possible partner in a hypothetical blockbuster, we feel as though they should remain in the mix until the star’s no longer on the market and, with this, if they are truly interested in pursuing Durant, they could easily piece together a worthwhile package.

From proven All-Star Pascal Siakam and the rising young stud OG Anunoby to the obviously coveted Scottie Barnes, Toronto has an array of young and promising talents that could be dangled in Brooklyn’s direction, while also being able to shell out any number of their own future picks that Sean Marks’ heart desires.

Jaylen Brown may be the obvious greater individual talent that the Nets could possibly nab in a Durant deal, but, overall, the Raptors could quite easily put together an more enticing package than Boston realistically would.
