Former Super Bowl XXXVI Champion with the New England Patriots Jermaine Wiggins, a regular on the Greg Hill Morning Show and the Gresh and Keefe mid-day show on sports radio WEEI in Boston, recently claimed that Jaylen Brown told him that he wants out of Beantown and being Jayson Tatum’s sidekick with the Boston Celtics.

Wiggins claimed that he saw Brown while in the Hamptons on Long Island and was personally given the idea from the player himself that No. 7 won’t re-sign with the franchise in the summer of 2024 when he is eligible to be an unrestricted free agent. Thus far, Brown has spent all six seasons with the Cs, spending all but one alongside Tatum.

While he has blossomed into an NBA All-Star, Brown has served as the second option the last three seasons. During the 2018-19 season, current Boston Celtics President of Basketball Operations and former head coach Brad Stevens replaced Brown in the starting five with Marcus Smart, who has since become the starting point guard under new HC Ime Udoka.

Jaylen Brown is the primary piece in any Boston Celtics trade package for Kevin Durant

Sports Illustrated’s Chris Mannix insists that it will take a package starting with Jaylen Brown and Marcus Smart/Grant Williams to get a Kevin Durant deal done. NBC Sports Boston’s Chris Forsberg believes Robert Williams isn’t likely to be relinquished by the Cs in any deal — while also believing that Brown is the starting point for any deal. Avery Johnson told CBS Sports HQ that if he were a member of the Brooklyn Nets front office, he’d call the Boston Celtics first.

Based on all current media scuttlebutt, it’s clear that Brown would be a goner in any trade scenario that brings back Durant. Considering his recent social media activity, namely liking a tweet that read ‘Jaylen Brown is so disrespected by Celtics fans’, it’s not hard to imagine the former No. 3 overall pick in 2016 being antsy with internal discussions the team may be having about his place on the roster next season, and the public discourse that’s taking place as that is going on.

Next. Cs could complete roster with these 2 signings. dark
