After falling short of banner No. 18 by just two games, the Boston Celtics have started their offseason endeavors off with an absolute bang.

The first full day of free agency kicked off with the news that veteran forward, Danilo Gallinari, planned to ink a two-year deal with the C’s once he clears waivers and was then followed up with the surprise deal that netted the franchise long-time target Malcolm Brogdon via trade.

While these aforementioned moves alone certainly bolster the talent pool of this championship-aspiring roster, being that we’re only now approaching the first full week of free agency one should expect a few more transactions to be made between now and the start of the 2022-23 campaign this coming October.

Should Brad Stevens and co. be interested in once again scouring the open market, there are still plenty of solid talents they could snag to help continue rounding out this new-look rotation, and, to us at HH, there are 3 free agents, in particular, the franchise can realistically sign:

Boston Celtics free-agent target No. 1) Harry Giles

The Boston Celtics have managed to do quite a lot in terms of talent-improving this offseason already and, while this is important, perhaps another area they could look to bolster is camaraderie, particularly when it comes their superstar building block, Jayson Tatum.

Just recently, the wing went to Twitter to send out a plea for NBA franchises to consider signing his personal friend and former Blue Devil teammate, Harry Giles.

Now, it is unclear whether the All-Star was pushing for the C’s to sign the big man or if he was simply advocating for him to have a roster spot on any team in the association but, for morale and personal reasons alone, Brad Stevens and co. should strongly consider bringing the former first-round selection aboard this summer.

Outside of vying for a championship, the main objective for a front office should always be to keep their stars happy, and signing Tatum’s close personal friend could be a simple way to continue doing exactly that.

Even on a minimal, non-guaranteed contract which includes an invite to play for the team in the upcoming Summer League (assuming he’ll be healthy enough to participate), signing Giles could be an easy way to keep the franchise cornerstone happy while also providing the ball club with a 24-year-old with solid potential at a position still in need of addressing.

Despite an up-and-down four-year tenure in the association filled with inconsistent numbers and injuries, the last we saw the big on the hardwood, he was suiting up in the G League for the Agua Caliente Clippers where he posted solid averages of 11.7 points and 7.3 boards per game.
