Boston Celtics target No. 2) Alec Burks

Do we seriously think that the Boston Celtics should pursue the likes of Kevin Durant this offseason? No.

However, we are under the belief that they should absolutely be in the market for a wing-bolstering transaction prior to the start of next season, and Alec Burks could be a phenomenal target for Stevens to pursue.

Making a name for himself throughout his career as being an efficient offensive contributor off the pine, the 11-year pro has proven to be a reliable facilitator/ ball-handler and even a quality defensive contributor with his 6-6 frame and 6-10 wingspan.

That said, the front office has stated that they wish to bring on some consistent scoring to their arsenal come the start of next season, and it just so happens that Burks fits the bill in this department as well.

Over the last three seasons serving as a highly utilized reserve player, the wing has gone on to post impressive averages of 13.1 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 2.7 assists on 40 percent shooting from distance while seeing scoring numbers as high as 16.1 per night during his brief stint with the Golden State Warriors back in 2019-20.

Just this past season, per 75 possessions, the 30-year-old put up 15.3 points while shooting at a 40 percent clip from deep and boasted a nifty effective field goal percentage of 61 percent in catch-and-shoot scenarios (something that would absolutely come in handy within this C’s offensive scheme).

Be it as a shot creator, 3-point taker (38 percent career long-range shooter), or a mere secondary ball-handler (logged some significant minutes at the one with the New York Knicks this past season and played rather), a talent like Alec Burks makes a tone of sense for this Boston Celtics team.
