Top Boston Celtics moment No. 2) “The energy is about to shift”

The Boston Celtics suffered through an abysmal first few months to the season. Jayson Tatum was still struggling to make a consistent impact, the offense fell flat for long stretches of games, and they were only one game above .500 by January 29th.

This team seemed destined for a mediocre finish but Jaylen Brown was still confident and took to Twitter to assure fans that everything will work out.

The C’s had a game with the top-seeded Miami Heat later that night, a game in which they won by a whopping 30 points. From that point on, Boston went on a warpath to finish the season. Their record after that tweet was 25-6 to finish the season while having both the best offensive and defensive rating in the league.

That momentum carried all the way through the playoffs where they swept the star-studded Brooklyn Nets, beat the reigning champion, Milwaukee Bucks, in seven games, beat the top-seeded Heat in seven games, and fell just two wins shy of their first championship since 2008.

There is too much evidence to assume this was a coincidence so it is fair to say that JB was correct and that the energy definitely shifted from that point forward.
