Boston Celtics: 2 C’s that should be untouchable in a Bradley Beal trade
By Mark Nilon
Like every offseason since the league’s inception, the Boston Celtics find themselves already linked to several of the association’s biggest stars rumored to be on the move and, just recently, a player that’s been often rumored as being a top target for the franchise over the years has made headlines in regard to comments about his future with his current employers.
This past Saturday, when speaking at a community event, Wizards star, Bradley Beal, made comments about his frequently questioned tenure with Washington, stating that he’s made up his mind about his playing future, but followed this up by declining to disclose any further information.
Though his comments were incredibly vague, this hasn’t stopped the rumor mills from churning, as his non-specific response has, in a sense, left the doors wide open for trade speculation to continue on until more information about his decision surfaces and, what with his recent emotional response to comments made about him by current C’s centerpiece, Jayson Tatum, coupled with the rumblings over the years inferring that eastern Massachusetts would be his preferred destination if dealt, Boston is viewed as a legitimate threat to snag him this summer.
Now, obviously, when it comes to a player of Beal’s magnitude, any potential trade (this would be the only way the C’s would have a chance at nabbing him) is bound to see a bevy of moving pieces involved, both to make the money work as well as to simply pique the interest of Washington’s decision-makers so, in order for the shamrocks to execute such a hypothetical exchange, Brad Stevens must be willing to part ways with several of his current players.
Having said that, while adding on the star guard to the roster of this year’s NBA Finals runner-up might be an incredibly intriguing idea to ponder on, should Boston’s front office actually wind up pursuing such a deal with the Wizards, we at HH believe that 2 players not named Jayson Tatum should be left out of negotiations:
