The Boston Celtics had one of the most electrifying comeback stories in recent NBA history this year, pulling a full 180 after starting off the first half of the campaign going 20-21 and stationed outside looking in on a playoff slot, only to go 31-10 from then on out, finish as the second-seed in the Eastern Conference standings and clinch their first NBA Finals berth in over a decade.

Sadly, this is where the journey would end for the C’s, as the much more seasoned and experienced Golden State Warriors took care of business on the biggest stage, downing Boston in six games to win their fourth title in eight years.

Despite their championship bid falling a bit short, fans of the organization should feel extremely proud when it comes to what this team was able to accomplish, and should also have a strong sense of optimism moving forward, for the majority of this core rotation is signed on for the next several years and will continue to be led by Ime Udoka who, after just his first season at the helm, proved to be one heck of a head coach.

Having said that, while Boston’s typical contributors are likely to remain mostly intact come the start of next season, between now and then, one should expect to see a few shakeups made to their unit, ones that involve new faces coming in and, of course, old faces heading out.
