Boston Celtics: 1 stud and 1 dud from C’s season-ending loss in Game 6

Boston Celtics dud: Jayson Tatum
Generally speaking, when on the biggest stage and under the brightest of lights the league’s biggest stars seem to show up and prove to the masses why they’re revered as being transcendent talents.
For the Warriors, obviously, their franchise cornerstone in Stephen Curry accomplished this major goal and, in turn, guided Golden State to their fifth title.
For the Boston Celtics, however, their centerpiece, Jayson Tatum, was essentially nowhere to be found in Thursday’s pivotal Game 6.
Sure, he may have shown flashes of his superstar self with his tightly contested conversions from time to time (mainly early on in the first quarter) but, from the midway point on, the wing was absolutely nowhere to be found.
Logging 40 minutes on the night, Tatum managed to post a truly pedestrian stat line of 13 points and three boards on 33 percent shooting from the floor and 25 percent shooting from deep.
Now, granted, the All-Star did go on to dish out seven assists by the time the final buzzer sounded which, on its own, is a rather solid feat, but when considering he also coughed up five turnovers, said statistic becomes that much less impressive.
On top of this, while JT ended up with 13 total points scored, during the final two periods he managed to muster up just two on a nauseating 1-of-8 shooting from the floor.
While the coming offseason is bound to be a grueling one for all members of the Boston Celtics after coming so close to tasting glory only to fall two games short, with a performance like this, Jayson Tatum is bound to be in for some sleepless nights in the near future.
