Boston Celtics stud: Robert Williams III

On a night where essentially every member of the Boston Celtics couldn’t make a shot, the breakout big Robert Williams III couldn’t miss.

Though perhaps limited in his offensive arsenal and, oftentimes, is heavily dependent on lob passes, on Monday night the big man managed to showcase a bit of everything in this department, as he was able to score due to impressive patience and timing when fed the rock down under, off of put-backs, and even racked in two extra points from the charity stripe (another area the rest of the team struggled in).

Finally done with the minutes restrictions, Time Lord went on to log 30+ minutes for the second contest in a row and wound up 10 points, eight rebounds, and two assists on 80 percent shooting from the floor.

Now, though we didn’t see any of those mega blocks that have become somewhat of a staple within Williams’ game throughout his young career, the big man’s fingerprints were still all over the defensive end of the floor, as his presence in the paint forced a ton of kick-outs for the Warriors and also provided some astounding help/ one-on-one defense as well.

While his box score numbers may not show it, Robert Williams III was without a doubt either the second or third best player on the Celtics in Game 5, and if the eye-test couldn’t tell you that perhaps his +11 box plus-minus rating will, as he was the only member of his team’s core rotation to receive a positive rating.
