Boston Celtics key to victory No.2: A physical Robert Williams III

These two go hand in hand as they have most of the season. Robert Williams’s presence in the paint is enough to scare away opponents from entering the green.

His shot blocking ability combined with his strong hands make it a nightmare for bigs on the opposing offense. ‘The Timelord’ displayed this in full effect on Wednesday night, with three blocks and three steals.

His size bullied the bay boys out of attacking the rim and being able to kick it out. It also kickstarted the physicality all around for Boston who needed it after Game 2. The Cs matched Draymond Green’s intensity and bulldog play style and took control early.

A massive 47-31 advantage in the rebounding department also speaks to the level of physicality the shamrocks played with. The Warriors strength is to play fast and small, but the Celtics do not allow them to do that as much.

Williams and Horford’s struggles to defend Steph around screens has been made up for with their toughness and dominance in the paint. Williams is crucial in maintaining this toughness and physical level of play as the Cs look to capture the victory.
