Player that could give Boston Celtics trouble No. 2) Klay Thompson

So far into the 2022 NBA Finals, the real Klay Thompson has yet to show up for the Golden State Warriors.

After making his return to the hardwood on January 9th following a two-year injury-plagued hiatus, the All-Star guard has slowly but surely been working his way back to his peak form.

Even leading into this series, Thompson was fresh off of a blistering 32-point performance in their Game 6 closeout against Memphis and, throughout the postseason, has been boasting solid averages of 19.8 points, 4.3 rebounds, 2.4 assists, a steal, and just shy of a block per game on 46 percent shooting from the floor and 40 percent shooting from deep.

Against Boston, however, he has yet to find himself putting up the type of production that he had been showcasing towards the end of the regular season and on many occasions throughout the playoffs.

However, in Wednesday’s contest, we believe fans and spectators will witness Thompson finally pulling out of his slump, for the third game in each round played thus far has been the one in which he’s managed to find his rhythm, particularly on offense.

Through the first two games played in each series leading up to this point, we find the two guard putting up pedestrian averages (at least, for someone of his caliber) of 16.1 points on just 42 percent shooting from the floor and 31 percent shooting from deep.

In Game 3’s, however, the veteran has seemingly been able to snap out of his funks, as he’s been putting up 22 points on 48 percent shooting from the field and 44 percent shooting from beyond the arc during such contests.

A talent like Klay Thompson is not someone that can be slept on, no matter how poorly his production of late may seem to be, and, in this third bout, we could see him continue his streak of big games.
