Boston Celtics key to victory No. 3)  The role players need to step up

When the Boston Celtics are at their best, there are eight players who can score in double figures and play meaningful minutes.

Playing on the road in the NBA Finals is a different animal and can quickly extinguish the flame role players bring to the game. It has been said numerous times throughout the playoffs that the ancillary players step up their game on their home court.

See Grant Williams in Game 7 against the Bucks or Payton Pritchard in a handful of games this postseason at the Garden.

Throughout the first two games of this current series, Grant Williams, Payton Pritchard, and Daniel Theis have been less than impressive.

Williams has six total points in two games and has not had the same defensive impact he had in previous rounds. PP has not shot the ball as efficiently as he has in previous opportunities, shooting 2-of-7 in Game 2.

In order for the Boston Celtics to get back in the win column, they could use a bit more production from this trio. That does not necessarily mean they each need to score an irregular amount, but they must be productive.

Theis may not play as much in Game 3, for he struggled defensively to step up on screens and switches. Instead, it could be a bigger night for Williams as he seems due to hit a few more shots.

Boston has a chance to take the lead in the NBA Finals if they can hone in on these keys.
