Boston Celtics stud No. 2) Al Horford

One could not go on to tell the story of the 2022 postseason without bringing up Al Horford in the process, and this proved to also be the case when it comes to the tale of Game 1 of the 2022 NBA Finals.

Playing in the first championship game of his career at the pro level, the 35-year-old wasted no time when it came to making a positive impact on his squad, as he was directly responsible for half of the team’s first dozen points to start the game and, as time went on, only continued to make his mark.

By the time the final buzzer sounded, Big Al saw himself leading the charge in the scoring department for the C’s with 26 points while making 6-of-8 3-pointers, which ranks in as the most for a player’s debut game in the Finals.

On top of all this, the power forward managed to notch six boards, three rebounds, and an assist whilst shooting 75 percent from the field and converted on a perfect 4-of-4 shooting during the crunch-time fourth quarter.

With Al Horford in tow, it feels as though this Boston Celtics team can win against any opponent. Be it with his play on the hardwood, his calming attitude, or his veteran leadership that will round up the troops and have them simply listen to whatever it is he has to say (see the picture above).

This has been the reality of things since their opening round against the star-studded Nets and, clearly, this was the case during Game 1 of this final round against the dynastic Warriors.

It’s evident that the veteran wants this championship badly. All we can do is hope that, moving forward, his teammates hop on his level of desire and drive.
