Boston Celtics player No. 3) Jaylen Brown

We all know that the vast majority of defensive attention by Miami will be drawn towards Jayson Tatum which, of course, makes sense given the fact that he’s a perennial All-Star and just nabbed a First-Team All-NBA nod for his excellence during this year’s campaign.

Because of this, in order for the Boston Celtics to secure their trip to the 2022 NBA Finals, his co-star, Jaylen Brown, must step up in a major way and show everyone why he was a legitimate All-Star snub this past season and why he’s become known as the second half of arguably the most menacing wing duo in the entire association.

Virtually all series long, the 25-year-old has found himself putting up astounding numbers, boasting averages of 24.2 points, 7.3 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and a steal per game on 48 percent shooting from the floor and 42 percent shooting from deep.

Unfortunately, the way in which he’s cultivated these types of statistics has not been as impressive as it may seem, for, far more often than not, they’ll come throughout a rather sporadic showing, one where he’ll have a quiet first half, only to have it followed up with a stellar second, or vice versa.

Game 6 was a prime example of this, as he came out of the gates swinging, putting up 18 points, three boards, and two steals on 60 percent shooting from the floor and 50 percent shooting from deep.

The third and fourth periods, however, were a totally different story for the two-guard, as he would go on to score just two more points on a total of three shot attempts, thus being outpaced by the likes of Robert Williams, Marcus Smart, and even Derrick White.

This cannot be the case in this must-win Game 7!

The Boston Celtics are going to need Brown to have a similar start as he did on Friday but, instead of taking his foot off the gas in the second half, he needs to keep it floored and prove to everyone why he can be the perfect No. 2 option alongside Tatum.
