Boston Celtics: 3 keys to a Game 7 road win in Miami
Boston Celtics key to victory No. 2) Jayson Tatum needs the ball more
Jayson Tatum is the best player on the Boston Celtics and, arguably, in this series against the Miami Heat. A 2022 First Team All-NBA selection, Tatum’s ceiling is truly yet to be found.
Unfortunately for Boston, they struggled to get him the ball as much as they needed to on Friday night. To put it simply, Jayson Tatum needs to take more than twelve shots. Especially on a night where he made nine of them and knocked down four of his seven 3-pointers.
As mentioned previously, he only attempted one field goal in the entire fourth quarter. This has to change and we expect that it will.
If the shamrocks want to continue to play basketball this season, Tatum has to be the focal point during the Sunday night showdown. They must create shots for him early, not just make him go to work against two defenders.
He can exploit the Max Strus matchup that we have seen in this series.
Jaylen Brown needs to have more shots created for him as well, but many of those could come with the ball coming from Jayson.
JT & JB need to play off each other and be the focal points of the offense in this do-or-die Game 7.
