Boston Celtics takeaway No. 3) A glimmer of hope for a road warrior C’s team

This series is not over when we dig into a bit of the context surrounding these two teams. The Boston Celtics will be underdogs once again in Game 7 and maybe it plays into their favor.

We cannot continue to wave the collected white flags after crushing losses and a little adversity. The series is not over in a best-of-seven until a team wins four. It is tied at three apiece and the C’s have a great record on the road these playoffs.

They are 6-2 on the road thus far, including the only two of the Heat’s home losses this postseason. I like to try to salvage some semblance of hope heading into Game 7.

Boston can hang their hat on their stellar road record, but also on their overall track of overcoming adversity.

The Celts have not had an easy road to get this far to a Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Finals. This team engineered a resilient mid-season turnaround to become the consensus best team in the association post the New Year.

They did not play to lose in their final game of the season vs Memphis because the organization believed in themselves to beat a favored Brooklyn Nets team. The head-to-head result was a shocking sweep of the so-called “greatest seventh seed ever”.

Many fans and NBA analysts alike wrote the green team off when they lost a pivotal Game 5 to the Milwaukee Bucks. The end result: Boston stood in the face of adversity and punched back to go on the road to win Game 6 and force a Game 7 in Beantown, ultimately winning the series.

The Miami Heat have not put two good games consecutively together all series.

Based on the longstanding trend of this resilient Celtics team this season and during the playoffs, do not count them out! There is still one more game to play and it is honestly a coin flip.
