The Boston Celtics are 48 minutes away from the NBA Finals. It’d be their first trip to the postseason’s final round in 12 years, and it’d be one that’d immortalize first-year head coach Ime Udoka as a prize branch of the Gregg Popovich coaching tree.

Game 6 represents a chance for the Cs to excise their bubble demons from two seasons ago, giving the Miami Heat their receipt for the six-game series victory back in 2020. Based on the defensive pressure applied the last two games, it’s going to take one hell of a coaching adjustment from Erik Spoelstra and co. to overcome Boston right now.

It’s also going to take a huge adjustment from Miami’s stars. Jimmy Butler, Bam Adebayo, and Kyle Lowry all combined to score 21 points in Game 5. Lowry dropped the proverbial goose egg and grabbed just one rebound as his only stat.

As for the Boston Celtics, the stars ruled the day this past Wednesday night. Jayson Tatum fell an assist short of a triple-double and Jaylen Brown dropped an efficient 25 points, having shot 5/9 from the 3-point line in the process.

Will the Cs clinch their spot in the NBA Finals on Friday night, or is this series heading back down to South Beach for a decisive Game 7?

Hardwood Houdini has your odds, over/under points total, and a prediction for Friday night’s action on ESPN:

Boston Celtics vs. Miami Heat odds, spread, over/under

According to WynnBet, the Celtics are 9-point favorites against the Heat at home. Miami is a +325 underdog on the road, with the Cs moneyline set at -425. The over/under for the game has been placed at 200.5 points.

Celtics vs. Heat prediction

The Houdini is getting the champagne bottles ready, but nine points is a significant spread in an elimination game between two teams that are playing a Game 6.

Boston has been so dominant defensively that the Heat may feel reach 90 points for the third straight game. Even with the spread so low, the under is the play here given the burn we felt from Game 5’s over pick.

Pick: 200.5u (-108)
