The Boston Celtics are inching their way closer and closer to their first championship round since 2010, as they find themselves up 3-2 in this best-of-seven Eastern Conference Finals series against the Miami Heat and are heading back to TD Garden for a potential close-out Game 6.

Along their journey to get to this stage, the team as a whole has absolutely erupted on both ends of the floor, and, as a result, boast the best NET Rating in this year’s postseason.

Now, while this C’s squad in their entirety is truly responsible for this deep run, franchise cornerstone Jayson Tatum has been the one spearheading the charge, as he’s put up absolutely remarkable numbers in their 16 games thus far and, along the way, he’s managed to put himself in the conversation alongside some all-time great company.

With his 430 total points scored during the 2022 playoffs, at 24 years and 83 days old the 3x All-Star and 2x All-NBA selection finds himself ranked as the second-youngest player in NBA history to register 1,500 postseason points.

The only person ahead of him on such a list: the late, great Kobe Bryant.

Along with these two, there have only been three other players to reach this milestone before turning 25, as the list includes LeBron James, Tony Parker, and Kevin Durant.

So far, Jayson Tatum finds himself averaging 26.9 points per contest to go along with a stellar all-around stat-line of 6.3 boards, six assists, 1.2 steals, and just shy of a block.

With his efforts this year, the Boston Celtics are just one win away from punching their ticket to the 2022 NBA Finals while his efforts throughout his career have placed him within this illustrious group filled with legendary players and Hall of Famers.

For anyone, this achievement would be remarkable, but for someone who’s only in his fifth season in the association, it makes it that much more special.
