Boston Celtics stud: Jaylen Brown

Jaylen Brown had trouble taking care of the basketball with a team-high seven turnovers. That said, without him, the Boston Celtics had no chance to be in this game, making him the clear choice as Game 3’s stud.

Brown finished with 40 points on an incredible 14-for-20 shooting from the field. All six of his misses came from behind the 3-point line and he became the first player to score 40 points on 100 percent shooting from two-point range during a playoff game in the shot clock era.

He scored in a variety of ways and picked up the slack for the struggling Celtics offense.

After keeping Boston within striking distance for most of the game, he went on a personal 10-0 run to cut Miami’s once 26-point lead down to just one, at a score of 93-92. He and Boston were unable to close the game and fell just short of taking their first lead of the game at a critical time.

His fourth quarter display of scoring was incredible and it’s a shame that his historic performance was wasted in such a mess of a game for Boston.

Brown wasn’t perfect by any means, as this was one of his grittiest performances of his young career, but his lack of help Saturday night was the nail in the coffin for the C’s.
