Boston Celtics takeaway No.1) In Grant we trust

Words cannot describe just how good Grant Williams was in Game 7. The 23-year-old big man finished with 27 points and six rebounds, including knocking down seven 3-pointers.

This point total and total 3-pointers made were both playoff career highs for the third-year pro.

In addition to his success on the offensive end, Williams was above average defensively as he blocked two shots on the night as well.

Williams finished as a +25 in 39 minutes of action and showed that he can be trusted to knock down threes on a consistent basis once again.

His ball movement and passing have also continued to improve throughout the season. Sunday was no different as the ball continued to move.

The eighteen 3-point attempts for Williams also tell us that his team trusts him. They continued to pass him the ball even after a slow start from beyond the arc.

The trust Tatum, Brown, and coach Ime Udoka have shown they have for Grant has also helped to boost his confidence.

His ability to defend multiple positions whilst doing so without fouling was on full display. This performance is very encouraging to see as it very well could translate into the Eastern Conference Finals.

Williams could see time guarding Bam Adebayo in the next series, and this performance gives us a reason to be excited about that matchup.
