Boston Celtics: 3 takeaways from C’s Game 7 decimation of the Bucks

Well, Boston Celtics fans, that was quite the rollercoaster of a series!

From Game 1 to Game 7, the outcome was in question as Boston had to try to fend off Giannis Antetokoumnpo.

The first quarter began a bit slow for the C’s, as the shamrocks trailed 10-3 in the first couple of minutes.

At the end of the first, Milwaukee held a six-point lead over Boston.

The Celtics would have some resolve in the next twelve minutes of action as they got the offense going. Jayson Tatum led the way as he continued to knock down open treys.

Entering the half, the shamrocks were in control as they leaped ahead to a 48-43 lead. This postseason, the third quarter has been a bag of mixed results for the Celtics.

The third was a bit nerve-wracking for fans as Jayson Tatum picked up his fourth foul on a controversial call. After being reviewed, it was confirmed to be an offensive (such B.S.) and Tatum was quickly sat down.

Grant Williams stepped up huge as he splashed in 3-pointers regularly, knocking down six through the first thirty-six minutes.

Heading into the fourth, Boston had a stronghold on the lead, as the score read 76-64 in favor of the C’s.

The fourth quarter saw the Boston Celtics liftoff and put the series to rest. Boston decimated Milwaukee on both ends of the floor as they advanced to the Eastern Conference Finals.

As usual, Jayson Tatum was stellar throughout, dropping 23 points on the night. Shockingly, Tatum was not the highest scoring Celtic as Grant Williams stole the show.

The former first-round pick notched 27 points including seven made 3-pointers. Marcus Smart, Jaylen Brown, and Payton Pritchard each scored in double figures as well.

One of the biggest bright spots in Game 7? The Celtic defense that held Giannis Antetokpoumnpo to just 25 points on 10-of-26 shooting from the field.
