Trade No. 2) Boston Celtics land Jerami Grant, Detroit steers into rebuild

So, trade number two once again finds the Boston Celtics trading in their role players for the likes of Jerami Grant only this time, we see a future first-round pick being shipped out in exchange which, frankly, makes this proposal a bit more plausible.

In this scenario we see Grant Williams being kept in tow but, in exchange, we see Payton Pritchard and Aaron Nesmith taking his place, and, to Piercey, both could be viewed as solid long-term additions for the Pistons:

"Prichard is a smart, game-managing point guard. He hustles on defense and can catch fire from downtown in a hurry. He could be a great backup for Cade Cunningham for years to come. As for Nesmith, he’s proven less, but he does hold potential as an athletic 3-and-D wing. If he reaches it, he could be exactly the type of role player the Pistons need down the line"

In return, obviously, the Celtics once again bring aboard Jerami Grant to form a Big-3 between him, Jayson Tatum, and Jaylen Brown.

A solid two-way talent on the cusp of stardom (at least, that’s how he’s viewed), since joining the Pistons the forward has found himself putting up 20.9 points, 4.4 rebounds, 2.6 assists, and 1.1 blocks on 43 percent shooting from the floor and 35 percent shooting from deep.

Adding him on to the C’s to serve as that highly coveted tertiary option alongside the Jays could certainly be viewed as a great move for this front office to make and, while we at HH are by no means thrilled about seeing the bulk of these players departing (especially Payton Pritchard, who we absolutely adore), the upside that a player like Jerami Grant brings should be enough to push Boston towards accepting such a deal.

Verdict: Pursue
