3. Kevin Durant

There’s been a strange trend this offseason of Kevin Durant mock trades to the Boston Celtics. It’s an idea that is almost outlandish as his Nets co-star Kyrie Irving returning to Beantown in the offseason.

The idea of Boston trading away Jaylen Brown, Marcus Smart, Robert Williams, and/or other core members while also dangling multiple draft picks for a 33-year-old with a laundry list of injuries throughout his career is a silly one.

Durant and Irving have all the power within the Nets organization, so why cede that to go a franchise that no player has ever called the shots for? Also, let’s not forget that Durant and Irving were insinuating that the entire city of Boston is still living in dark times regarding social justice matters.

In all, adding K.D. makes no sense for the price it would take to land him. His usage is similar to (32% for Tatum, 31% for Durant) and while that works for the ‘Jays’ (Jaylen Brown’s is 30.4%) it wouldn’t be as clean a positional fit.
