Game 6: Boston Celtics vs. Milwaukee Bucks prediction, odds, TV channel
Boston Celtics fans may have felt that in the closing seconds of Game 5, with the Cs down by three points, Jrue Holiday not only stole the ball directly out of Marcus Smart’s hands but that he also stole the series.
The Eastern Conference semifinals No. 2-No. 3 matchup with Milwaukee has been the closest of any from the NBA playoffs’ second round. After a Game 3 heartbreak in ‘Deer District’, the Cs responded in earnest on Monday night, setting up the Game 5 gut-punch Wednesday.
It wasn’t only Smart’s last-second turnover that has fans upset. He was blocked on a rim-run by Holiday on the previous possession, and he also turned the ball over with 48 seconds left with Boston up by three. But it also wasn’t just Smart either.
The biggest failure of the entire postseason, and perhaps the entire 2021-22 season as a whole, was when the Celtics failed to grab a defensive rebound as Giannis Antetokounmpo missed his second free throw with 14.2 left in the game. That opened the door for a Bobby Portis offensive rebound and a go-ahead bucket that put the Bucks up for good.
It’s do-or-die for the Cs. Will they force a Game 7 or head into the offseason with loads of regrets?
