3 keys to the Boston Celtics tying the series in Milwaukee
Boston Celtics key to victory No. 3) The third quarter
As previously mentioned, the third quarter of Game 3 was abysmal for the Boston Celtics, as they were outscored by seventeen in the third quarter of the loss.
Even in the Game 2 win, the Celts were outscored by eight in the third.
Game 1 was the only game in this series in which Boston won the third period and it was only by two points.
Clearly, there are some issues with the Celtics coming out of the half. Even with the constant adjusting that first-year head coach Ime Udoka makes, some things are off after the break.
Boston seems to come out a bit sluggish and lazy on offense. Sometimes, the C’s shoot early in their sets and don’t make the extra pass.
It seems in the third, they spend time trying to get one of their guys going and help them find their groove. Boston simply cannot afford to have a poor third quarter if they hope to even up the series.
It will be interesting to see if Udoka changes up the lineups out of the half or what other adjustments will be made.
In order for Boston to stay alive and even up the series, they must win the third quarter. If they can accomplish that, force more turnovers, and contain Giannis, this series could be back to even come the conclusion of Monday night.
