Boston Celtics key to victory No. 2) Force more turnovers

It has been well documented just how dominant the Boston Celtics defense has been during the 2022 NBA season. Finishing the year as the top-ranked defense, the shamrocks have carried that success into the playoffs.

They have held the Bucks to just over 96 points per game in this series.

One thing the C’s must do better is force more turnovers. All year long Boston’s lengthy defense has been active in the passing lanes and not allowing teams to get into a rhythm offensively.

In this series, the Celtics have not done that as much. So much attention has been put on Giannis, and rightfully so, that Boston hasn’t been as active in the passing lanes. They seem to be more reluctant to jump a pass or put pressure on the ball as it crosses half-court.

Part of this is due to the fact that they don’t want to miss jumping a pass and leave Giannis in a one-on-one attacking the rim.

Milwaukee committed just ten turnovers in Game 3 and thirteen in Game1, which, obviously, were their two wins. In their Game 2 loss, the deer turned over the rock sixteen times.

If Boston hopes to tie up the series, they need to force Milwaukee towards sixteen giveaways, rather than ten.
