Boston Celtics key to victory No. 1) Contain Giannis Antetokounmpo

Easier said than done, but the Boston Celtics simply have to figure out how to contain Giannis Antetokoumnpo. The Greek Freak struggled a bit shooting in Games 1 and 2, but in Game 3 everything went his way.

The 2x MVP not only posted 42 points but did so on 16-of-30 shooting. Although he was just 1-of-6 from downtown, Antetokoumnpo was 9-of-12 from the charity stripe. The twelve attempts from the line were the most in a game for him during the 2022 playoffs.

It’s impossible to stop a man of Giannis’s caliber, but Boston cannot allow him to score more than 40 points again.

No matter who guarded him, they struggled.

Even when the C’s doubled, Giannis made the right pass. Without Middleton, it’s been up to Jrue Holiday, Pat Connaughton, and the ancillary players to pick up the slack.

Boston might just have to be okay with these “other guys” being open and making their shots. At the end of the day, how reliable are Grayson Allen and George Hill?

Time will only tell if Boston looks to double number 34 more, and Allen and Hill could be candidates for increased shots.

Sometimes you have to live with the role players taking more shots even if they are open, as long as that means stopping the Greek Freak.
