Game 2 was everything the Boston Celtics needed and more in their No. 2-No. 3 Eastern Conference semifinals matchup against the Milwaukee Bucks.

Without Marcus Smart, and with fill-in floor general Derrick White going scoreless in 28 minutes, the Cs got the level of play Jaylen Brown reaches at his potential (30 points, six assists, five rebounds)  with a 29-point Jayson Tatum effort sprinkled in. The final score, 109-86, was momentum-shifting for the series. *If sustainable.

That’s what we’re trying to decipher here. Giannis Antetokounmpo was contained to 11/27 shooting in Game 2 and was the only Bucks scorer to clear the 20-point benchmark. If that’s a trend and not a one-off, Game 1 could be a distant memory by series’ end.

Hardwood Houdini lays a prediction and provides the odds and spread for Game 3 of the Eastern Conference semifinals’ No. 2-No. 3 ABC-televised matchup at the Fiserv Forum on Saturday:

Boston Celtics vs. Milwaukee odds, spread, over/under

According to WynnBet, the Celtics are 2.5-point underdogs against the Bucks on the road. Milwaukee is a -145 favorite at home, with the Cs moneyline set at +115. The over/under for the game has been placed at 213 points.

Celtics vs. Bucks prediction

Vegas must be getting sick of feeling the burn with the points total in this series. Both games so far, one of the two teams ended up with less than 90 points. It doesn’t feel like these teams are about to fall off their defensive pace, but the final score doesn’t seem like it’s going to magically jump too far past the set Game 3 points total.

The question becomes: do the Celtics maintain their ability to mute Milwaukee’s role players or do the Bucks overcome the likely return of Marcus Smart to the Boston lineup?

At plus money, it’s way too tempting not to take the Boston Celtics moneyline.

Pick: Celtics ML (+115)
