Los Angeles Lakers on-court legend and front office failure Magic Johnson chimed in on the Boston Celtics-Milwaukee Bucks series on Tuesday, saying the Cs would be swept if they can’t wrestle the series lead away from Giannis Antetokounmpo and co. in Game 2.
Game 1 definitely painted a bleak picture for the Celtics’ offense facing a big, physical Bucks defense that features Jrue Holiday as its ‘smallest’ defender. The ‘Greek Freak’ at the 3 is a borderline cheat code.
But being down 0-2 is not the death sentence Johnson is painting.
Here’s what Johnson had to say via his verified Twitter:
If the Celtics don’t win this game tonight against the Bucks, the Bucks will sweep them.

Wynnbet had the Houdini hootin’ and hollerin’ hitting close to home here, though:

The Boston Celtics’ stars need to respond to Game 1 struggles
Boston’s three (that’s right, three) stars need to respond after a poor series debut in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference seminfinals’ No. 2-No. 3 matchup.
Jayson Tatum was the only Celtics scorer to surpass the 20-point threshold, Jaylen Brown shot 33%> with a starting lineup-worst -12 box plus-minus with seven turnovers, and Marcus Smart shot 1/6 from the 3-point line in a Game 1 to forget.
This cannot go on, because if it does, Magic Johnson will be able to claim double bragging rights on his Lakers’ historical rivals being swept and him also being able to say ‘I told you so’.
Bring on Game 2, and if the Cs lose, bring on Game 3. It’s not over until the buzzer has sounded and the Bucks have beaten Boston four times.
