Takeaway No. 2: This is going to be a much more physical series for the Boston Celtics

Kevin Durant weighs 240 pounds and is known for his finesse scoring ability. Giannis Antetokounmpo weighs 242 lbs. The difference between their weight is that the ‘Greek Freak’ is 242 lbs of pure meat and muscle.

Game 1 of this series is already the most physical game that Boston has played this playoff run and it is going to be like this however long this series goes.

When Boston was game-planning for Durant, they were physical with him every game, hitting him on every screen and even just crashing into him when they had the opportunity off-ball. Milwaukee took that page right out of Boston’s book as they did the same exact thing with Jayson Tatum: chipping him when he was off-ball, setting hard screens on him, and even roughing him when he was the primary defender.

Unfortunately, Marcus Smart was the player who received the worst of the physical Game 1. At the end of the first half, Celtics fans everywhere held their breath as Smart ran straight into the tunnel with what looked to be a dislocated shoulder.

Luckily, it was just a shoulder stinger but he also had some right quad contusions as well. He battled for the rest of the game before seemingly injuring his foot and limping into the locker room after the game.

Robert Williams caught a couple blows during the game including a big blow in his mid section by Antetokounmpo’s heel.

Jaylen Brown is already a little shaky with his hamstring, which he grabbed at a couple times.

During this time of the year in the NBA, everyone is battling with their own individual injuries. Hopefully, the Celtics can stay healthy enough to string together a run at the Finals.
