Former Boston Celtics player No. 2) Max Strus

Max Strus is a player we at HH were rather high on during his short-lived, preseason tenure with the Boston Celtics in 2019 and, even prior to this year’s playoffs, we labeled him as a player the C’s gave up a bit too early on.

Now, though it may not have been to the degree in which Desmond Bane improved, the shooting guard had a major leap of his own this season, as he finally found a consistent role within an NBA team’s regular-season roster.

As a result, the wing saw himself logging 23.3 minutes a night with the Miami Heat where he’d go on to serve as a quality off-ball floor spacer, averaging 10.6 points and three boards whilst converting at a 41 percent clip from deep on 6.5 attempts per game (third-most on the team).

Since the start of the postseason, however, Strus’s role has only gone on to increase and, as a result, so have his numbers.

Of those who have played in four or more games thus far during Miami’s playoff run, the 26-year-old is averaging the third-most minutes (28.9) while also putting up the second-most points per game (14) and is their most utilized 3-point shooter, as he’s hoisting up nine attempts a night.

Serving as perhaps their most under-the-radar contributor all year long (at least from an offensive standpoint), with every passing day Max Strus is proving more and more that the C’s dropped the ball on him.
