Boston Celtics unsung stud No. 1) Grant Williams

In year three, Grant Williams became one of the most trusted and highly utilized role players found within Ime Udoka’s rotation, boasting career-highs in seemingly every statistical category, and ultimately managed to produce just as effectively and impactfully in the first few games of the playoffs as he did throughout the regular season.

Game 4 was no exception to this trend.

Serving as Boston’s sixth man on the night, the forward came out of the gates ready to make impact plays for his team in this decisive exhibition, putting up 12 of his points in the first half.

Despite only scoring two more points for the rest of the game, Williams’ impact was still felt on the floor, especially on the defensive side of the ball.

By the time the final buzzer sounded, the 23-year-old saw an impressive log of 14 points, three rebounds, one assist, and three blocks (all of which coming in truly remarkable fashion, with two even being at the expense of Kevin Durant) on a stellar 62.5 percent shooting from the floor and 66.7 percent shooting from deep.

As we stated already, Grant Williams has been a big-time part of the rotation on both ends of the ball (but especially in the shooting department) for the Celtics this season and, in turn, it has made him a big-time part of their incredibly joyous successes.

In round two, we’ll need more of the same from this talented youngster.
