Takeaway No. 3: Jaylen Brown is THAT guy for the Boston Celtics

Please, please, PLEASE can the NBA start respecting Jaylen Brown now?

Before I start, I want to say I love Jayson Tatum…but all season it has been Jayson Tatum this and Jayson Tatum that (rightfully so).

More people need to awaken to the fact that Jaylen Brown has had a hell of a season himself! He averaged 24 points on 47% shooting (36% from three), six rebounds, and four assists per game this season.

Tonight, he got the chance to showcase his greatness to everyone.

22 points, six rebounds, and four assists against the Brooklyn Nets. That included 10 BIG points in the fourth quarter making some deep 3-pointers and some highlight-reel layups, Brown reminded the league that he and Tatum are the best duo in the league.

Brown was almost able to take over in the fourth quarter and really asserted his dominance against the defenders he was against, no matter who it was. While everyone was focused on Tatum and how he would score, Brown was balling, constantly making the Nets’ defense look silly.

If Jaylen Brown is able to keep playing at such a high, effective level (which he is capable of), there is not one reason why I don’t see this team making a deep run.

That’s especially true if Williams is able to come back and make even half the impact that he was making before.
