The Boston Celtics had themselves quite a tremendous regular-season run, going 51-31 through their 82 game stretch.

As a result, they wound up nabbing their eighth straight playoff berth and are heading into the big dance slotted into the second seed out east, slated to square off against the Brooklyn Nets in round one.

Now, while the C’s players and coaching staff are all likely locked in on trying to construct a proper gameplan to breeze by their divisional rivals in this upcoming seven-game series, the team’s front office personnel almost certainly have one eye set on the present and the other on the future–i.e., their endeavors for this upcoming offseason.

As we stated, Boston wound up having an overall impressive campaign, but, even with their high and mighty finish, no one can look at this team and definitively say they have a flawless crop of talents at their disposal.

With limited cap space and no first-round draft picks to work with, it’s almost certain that Brad Stevens and co. will not be major players in free agency this summer, which means that, should the shamrocks wish to bolster the rotation they’ll likely have to do so via the trade route.

Unfortunately, due to their lacking supply of valuable assets, they’ll almost certainly need to look to the desperate teams at the bottom of the league’s food chain in an effort to take advantage of their lowly states and pry some potentially undervalued or ill-fitting players away from their rosters, and we believe there are 2 players, in specific, currently on non-playoff teams the Boston Celtics should look to trade for this summer:
