Surprise Net #2 that could torch the Boston Celtics this postseason: Goran Dragic

Celtics fans need not forget how legendary of a run Goran Dragic was on less than two years ago down in the Lake Buena Vista bubble on Walt Disney World’s Wide World of Sports complex for the 2020 NBA postseason.

HoopsHabit’s Simon Smith put his run into historical perspective:

"From an historical point of view, Dragic’s output has been phenomenal. Through the opening 11 games of a playoff campaign, the following players in addition to Dragic are the only players in NBA history to average at least 22.2 points, 4.6 assists, 4.5 rebounds, 2.7 3-pointers and 1.0 steals per game: -Stephen Curry -James Harden -Kevin Durant"

Now reunited with his mentor in Phoenix, Nets head coach Steve Nash, Dragic could very well be due for another great run…if in a much different role this time around.

Obviously, Kyrie Irving’s redemption against his former team will be the primary point guard battle to watch when the Cs and Nets rematch from last year’s inverse No. 2-No. 7 matchup. But Dragic could very well be a Celtics killer from the point guard spot as well for Brooklyn in a backup role.

Dragic got just 10 minutes against Cleveland, but if he could see the floor more in the first round of the east playoffs, the ‘Dragon’ could make Cs fans feel the burn.
