Boston Celtics dud: Aaron Nesmith

We at the Houdini were really hoping to see a big game from the likes of Aaron Nesmith in Thursday’s bout against the Milwaukee Bucks. Heck, we even tweeted it as soon as the sophomore made his way onto the floor for the first time on the night.

With the fact that the C’s were down Tatum, and the 22-year-old is one of the few other wings found on this team’s roster, this game was a perfect opportunity for the youngster to get some quality minutes in the rotation and, in turn, showcase his potential of being a long-lasting contributor for Boston.

Unfortunately, however, this didn’t wind up proving to be the case, as the second-year baller struggled mightily during the time he spent on the hardwood.

Seeing nearly 12 minutes of action, Nesmith went on to put up a lackluster stat-line of one steal, two turnovers, and a foul whilst registering zero points on 0-for-3 shooting, all of which came from beyond the arc.

Now, don’t get us wrong, the former lottery pick did put forth a solid amount of hustle during his limited minutes, with his lone steal coming in quite an impressive fashion (a swat on a lob attempt for Bobby Portis that he simultaneously saved from going out of bounds), but even color commentator, Stan Van Gundy had to publicly state just how poorly the once upon a time top-billed shooter in his respective draft class has been during his tenure in the league.

At this point, every moment on the floor counts, and, sadly, once again Aaron Nesmith couldn’t capitalize on his opportunity.
