Time will tell if the Boston Celtics need to make any additional tweaks to their roster or if the current core is championship material.

How much time? About two and a half months to be exact.

Between the scheduled NBA Finals dates and now, a lot will be learned about the current Cs core. Unfortunately, the vaccination status of Boston’s most important players (namely, Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, and Al Horford) will be one of them.

That could bleed into the question of whether or not this team can hang Banner 18. An early elimination in year one of the Brad Stevens era could force another flurry of transactions in the offseason.

And hey, if vaccination status isn’t an issue and this roster just isn’t up to snuff, that roster overhaul could also be the end result.

Based on current speculation, these 3 stars could be available in deal this offseason. Better yet, the Cs have the assets to land them via trade:

Star #1 Boston Celtics have the assets to land in the offseason: Rudy Gobert

While the Boston Celtics are covered at center with Robert Williams, it’s undeniable that the ceiling would be higher with the ‘Stifle Tower’ at the pivot spot.

Which is convenient since Rudy Gobert could potentially available in the offseason. Marc Stein reports that he’d be more likely to be dealt than Utah Jazz teammate Donovan Mitchell:

"Gobert is considered more likely to become available via trade than Mitchell. If Gobert is shopped, two teams expected to express interest are the Dallas Mavericks and Toronto Raptors."

The Cs are in the same boat as the Dallas Mavericks and current Toronto Raptors (without Kyle Lowry and Kawhi Leonard) are: good, but far from a conference favorite.

They’d make sense as a destination too, and a package based around Robert Williams, Grant Williams, Payton Pritchard, and several draft picks should be enough to entice Utah to make a trade.
