Player less deserving than the Boston Celtics stud No. 2) Kevin Durant

Similar to the Los Angeles Lakers, the Brooklyn Nets–a top-tier preseason favorite to win it all in 2021-22–have been an unbelievable disappointment this year, as they, too, find themselves fighting to simply have a slot in the upcoming play-in tournament.

However, unlike LA, the reason why Brooklyn has been struggling mightily throughout the year is due to the fact that they have not been able to roll out a consistent lineup with their star players in tow seemingly all season.

Perhaps the most significant player who has missed substantial time throughout the year has been former MVP and All-World forward, Kevin Durant, who has gone on to sit out for 27 total games to this point which, frankly, has played a major role in the team’s regular-season turnout as a whole (the Nets have gone just 8-19 during these outings).

In the games KD has managed to suit up for, he’s looked every bit as explosive and unstoppable as he has been for the entirety of his career and, through 49 outings played, we find the superstar posting stellar per-game averages of 29.7 points (fourth-best mark in the league), 7.3 rebounds, a career-high 6.1 assists, and just shy of a block on 52 percent shooting from the floor and 37.5 percent shooting from deep.

Now yes, because of his unbelievable production when he’s managed to suit up, we believe that it is without a doubt that Durant is deserving of a spot on one of the three All-NBA teams come year’s end.

That said, should there only be one available slot remaining on either the first or second team, and it should come down to being between him and Boston Celtics star, Jayson Tatum, considering that Brooklyn is seven wins and four seeds behind the shamrocks, coupled with the fact that JT has been the driving force for his ball-club’s in-season turnaround whilst playing 23 more games in the process, we at HH believe it would be egregious to see Kevin Durant selected ahead of him come voting season.
