Boston Celtics key to victory No. 1) Contain Bam Adebayo

When healthy and engaged, Bam Adebayo is one of the best big men in the NBA. Adebayo has the ability to knock down mid-rangers, is an above-average passer, a great rebounder, and dominates the low post.

A true complete big man, Bam can dominate the game on any given night. Without Robert Williams on the parquet Wednesday night, the Shamrocks are going to have to deploy a different game plan to stop the beast.

Against Boston this season, Adebayo has posted the following lines:

11/4 vs BOS: 30 MIN, 13 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists, 5 turnovers (Celtics win 95-78)

1/31 @ BOS: 32 MIN, 12 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists, 2 turnovers (Celtics win 122-92)

The green and white have seemingly figured out how to guard the 2017 first-round pick. When the C’s contain the big man from Kentucky, they win. Will they have the same success guarding him without Williams is the big question.

Daniel Theis will need to play solid defense without fouling. Expect to see a fair share of Al Horford guarding Adebayo, although he can’t do it alone for 35 minutes.

Bam does struggle with consistency at times. Looking at recent games, he posted 22 points and twelve rebounds in their win against Sacramento. But he scored just fourteen points and six rebounds against Brooklyn two days prior.

The C’s must be creative and tenacious defensively if they want to hold Bam in check.
