Nobody appears ready to take on the Boston Celtics these days. It’s been over two months since the team has even had a losing streak and is currently on 10 wins on the month…in 11 games.

The Cs are unquestionably the hottest team in the NBA and have somehow found themselves within half a game of the #1 seed in the Eastern Conference.

It’s getting difficult to frame these constant accomplishments. Boston was never supposed to be in this position after a 23-24 start, but now it seems wrong to project anything but a run through the east.

Before we get to such a run, a late-season meltdown that undermines the first three months of the 2022 calendar year needs to be avoided.

And such a disaster could easily start against a young team looking to make its second postseason since 2004, the Minnesota Timberwolves.

At current, the T-Wolves are sitting in the #7 seed in the Western Conference. Ending the season in that spot would trigger an NBA Play-in scenario where Minnesota would have to win to get into the actual playoffs. A young team with minimal postseason experience will be trying to avoid that scenario at all costs considering the lack of stakes they’re core has collectively faced so far.

Do the Celtics slow down the hot upstart Timberwolves, who are 5-2 in their last seven with wins over Milwaukee and Miami sprinkled in? Or is Minnesota ready to take a firm hold of their postseason prospects with an upset on the road?

Celtics vs. Timberwolves prediction

Give me all the points scored in this Sunday night affair. This could certainly be close, and I expect the Cs to be given all they can handle and then some.

But the over is the Houdini’s lean tonight with the NBA’s leader in pace coming to town with something to prove.

Pick: 229o (-110)
