Boston Celtics: 3 low-key great summer trade targets using leftover TPE’s

Boston Celtics TPE target No. 2) Alec Burks
As has been alluded to and, frankly, flat out stated already, Boston’s bench unit is in great need of extra talents, particularly ones that can help improve their offensive production and Alec Burks is a player who could do exactly that.
Currently in the first year of a $30 million deal that spans through 2024, the veteran wing is having himself yet another solid season serving as a highly trusted role player for the New York Knicks.
Through 72 games played this season, the 30-year-old has been an all-around offensive contributor for New York, posting solid per-game averages of 11.2 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 2.8 assists on 39 percent shooting from the floor.
While technically being a wing, Burks’ versatility has come in handy for the point guard needy Knicks, as he’s been seen logging extensive playing time at the one, serving as the team’s quasi floor general, and, over these last 12 games, has been putting up an impressive averages of 12.8 points, six rebounds, and 4.1 assists on 41 percent shooting from deep.
If brought aboard, Burks could serve as both a secondary-ball handler as well as a quality bench scoring threat, both of which are attributes that the Boston Celtics should be highly interested in acquiring this coming offseason.
A solid facilitator, fantastic catch-and-shoot talent (boasts an effective field goal percentage of 61), sound isolation scorer, and a quality defensive contributor with a 6-6 frame and 6-10 wingspan, Alec Burks has the makings of being a great multi-position player that could help elevate Boston’s bench from the the bottom of the league’s totem pole.
