The Boston Celtics picked up their fifth straight win in dominant fashion, with a blowout effort over the Utah Jazz, 125-97.

The C’s hammered the Jazz right from the opening tip, which is something that they’ve made a habit of doing over the last few months. They built a lead as big as 30 points in the first half and cruised to victory from there.

This was a near perfect performance from the Celtics as they make their final push towards the playoffs.

Here are three takeaways from the dominant Celtics win.

Boston Celtics Takeaway #1: The Cs shot the lights out

It wasn’t long ago that the identity of the Boston Celtics was that they started slow and were prone to long stretches where they aren’t engaged. Well this has certainly changed over the last few months.

The Celtics have killed teams from the opening tip and it is a huge reason why they’ve been winning so many blowouts, and tonight was no different.

Boston started the game out by making their first 10 shots from the field including six 3-pointers. They built a double-digit lead within the first six minutes of the game and they never allowed the Jazz to get any closer.

The C’s kept this up all game and finished with absurd shooting percentages of 60% from the field and 53% from behind the 3-point line. What’s even more impressive is that they managed to score 125 points while only shooting seven free throws for the entire game.

Their assist numbers were through the roof last night and was a huge reason why they shot the ball with such great efficiency. The Boston Celtics finished with a season-high 37 assists on 50 made baskets which equates to a 74% assist rate.

After dropping a career-high 13 assists game, here is what Marcus Smart had to say about the Celtics ball movement.

Boston had itself a night from the field…that’s for sure.
